Lidl worker set to receive thousands in compensation

Lidl employee Matthew O’Donnell blew the whistle on Lidl following the discovery of mouldy food and feezers that had been turned off for more than 4 hours following a heatwave.

Once he reported the findings he was made to feel ostracised at work and his shifts were cut – ultimately leading him to resign.  Following a hearing at the Employment Tribunal, the panel have ruled in Matthew’s favour and he is now expected to recieve thousands in compensation.
