Increase to National Living and National Minimum Wage
The Government have confirmed in their Autumn budget that there will be an increase to both the National Living Wage (NLW) and the National Minimum Wage (NMW) during Spring 2018.
From April 1st, the NLW will increase by 33p and go up to £7.83 per hour. To qualify for NLW workers need to be aged 25 or over)
The NMW will, at the same time, also increase in the below age brackets:
- Apprentices – an increase of 20p from £3.50 up to £3.70
- 16-17 years old – an increase of 15p from £4.05 up to £4.20
- 18 – 20 years old – an increase of 30p from £5.60 up to 5.90
- 21-24 years old – an increase of 33p from £7.05 up to £7.38
